Ways to Use Dandelion Greens: Make a Green Smoothie!

Here I am, out picking dandelion greens in the late summer/early Fall-- no flowers in
sight, almost look like lettuce.  Dandelion greens are terrific detox agents-- see more
in my previous blog post (Juicing Dandelions).  They are a little bitter/stringent, but as
happens with most greens in a Green Smoothie, the 60% fruit content in the smoothie
overwhelms the bitterness.  You get all the minerals from the dandelion greens AND
phytonutrients from the fruit-- tastes great, boosts your energy, does a gentle
detox (start with only 4-8 dandelion leaves), and starts to clear up the brain fog!

Here is my breakfast Green Smoothie today (go ahead and try out different fresh
fruits and berries and perhaps extra greens such as romaine, parsley, lambsquarters,
celery... )

Apple-Blackberry-Dandelion Green Smoothie for Two
2 Braeburn Apples, chopped
1/2 C. Blackberries
4-8 Dandelion Leaves
6-8 Soft Dates* (pits removed)
20 oz. filtered Water
                                *optional, or use Stevia or other dried fruit

Whirr up in a Vitamix/heavy-duty blender and "chew" the first couple of swigs to start the digestion
process.  Sip by itself without consuming other breakfast items if possible.  Enjoy!
