I recently ran across a rave review for a commercial nut paté called Nutmeric that combines nuts with tumeric and garlic. My Facebook pal, Paula, and I thought we could come up with something more delicious than something you get in a tin or a jar. Al-meric is my contribution-- we'll see what Paula creates later!
I am attracted by using Tumeric in a raw paté partly for its sunny yellow hues, but also because it has the reputation for being a wonderful healing herb.
And tied up with garlic, you have a tasty, healthy, colourful paté. I also added pumpkin seeds for extra oomph (and crunch). I used my Cuisinart food processor
Combine the following in the Cuisinart:
- 1 1/2 C. soaked raw Almonds
- 1 1/2 C. raw Pumpkin Seeds, soaked and dehydrated (dehydrating just makes it extra crunchy)
- 2 T. organic Tumeric
- 2 T. organic Garlic Purée (purée several bulbs of peeled, organic garlic and store in the freezer)
- 1/2 T. Celtic Sea Salt
- 1/2 - 1 C. Extra Virgin Olive Oil or organic Sesame Oil
To your living health!
