How To Vacation or Hang Out In Your Own Backyard

The past should be a springboard, not a hammock.~Irving Ball
When I was a child my grandparents had a hammock on their front veranda of their farmhouse.  In the summer my grandfather had afternoon naps there. I remember trying it out as a swing but not being too interested in it as a place to nap, because, I suppose, I was not a napping child. But now is another thing entirely. I would love to have a hammock, and guess what? It is possible to make one quickly and out of something like an old sheet or bedspread. Here is a video that describes more than one way to do it, including how a more classic woven or twined hammock can be made. This is the quintessential summer lounger!
